New Artist: Apostrophe

Apostrophe is an Atlanta, Georgia based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. He is also a member of alternative rock band, pinkFACE, who are currently working on new music. His top inspirations are Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Coheed and Cambria, and Tyler, The Creator. What Apostrophe creates with his music is breaking the borders between hip hop and punk rock similar to the works of XXXTentacion, Post Malone, and Lil Peep.

Apostrophe’s debut original single, Don’t Ever Jump Into Absence is posted on SoundCloud. The recording focuses more of the punk rock aspect rather than the hip hop. With just an electric guitar, drum percussion, vocals, the song borrows 90s punk rock influence. During the first few seconds of Don’t Ever Jump Into Absence your imaginations will be submerged into your parent’s garage in a suburban neighborhood filled with sadness while blasting all of the rock bands you didn’t want your grandmother knowing you listened to.

What is unique about the recording is the production and how much it sounds like a vintage recording from the 90s. This not only brings in vivid imagery through the ears, but a historical perspective. Whether Apostrophe intended this or not, there is definitely 90s punk rock influence present in his sound.

Don’t Ever Jump Into Absence is available on SoundCloud.
